EDUCATION, RESUME & GOALS

Centennial College
Child and Youth Care Practitioner (Ontario College Advanced Diploma) January 2024 – Present

Short-term goals
-
Continue strengthening my trauma-informed, relationship-based practice so I can better support children and youth in ways that feel safe, respectful, and meaningful.
-
Gain hands-on experience through placement and other child- and youth-focused roles, while building confidence in real-life helping relationships, behaviour support, and day-to-day practice.
-
Improve my skills in documentation, intervention planning, and professional communication to become more confident, organized, and effective in the field.
-
Continue developing my portfolio so it reflects not only my academic learning, but also my personal growth, lived experience, placement journey, and the kind of practitioner I am becoming.

Long-term goals
-
To build a career in Child and Youth Care where I can be a safe, consistent, and trusted support for children and youth, especially those who feel misunderstood, overlooked, or given up on.
-
To work in spaces such as schools, community programs, outreach, residential care, or family support, where I can create real change.
-
To continue growing my skills in mental health, behaviour support, crisis intervention, emotional regulation, family work, and youth advocacy.
-
To become a practitioner known for authenticity, empathy, honesty, strong boundaries, and the ability to connect with young people in meaningful ways.
-
To use my experience in Child and Youth Care as a foundation for future work in education, leadership, and community change.
